The Assistant Electrical Project Manager supports the Project Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical projects from site implementation through completion and handover. The role works closely with Site, Purchasing, Accounts, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients to ensure smooth project execution within the required timeline, budget, quality, and safety standards.
The position will also assist in project documentation, progress claims, variation orders, procurement coordination, tender preparation, site coordination, and resolving project issues, while providing day-to-day support to the Project Manager and project team.
Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and monitoring electrical projects from execution to completion.
Monitor daily site progress and ensure electrical works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
Coordinate with Site Engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
Assist in reviewing electrical drawings, BOQ, technical submissions, material submissions, and method statements.
Work closely with internal departments including Purchasing, Accounts, and Site/Project teams on material procurement, project costing, claims, payments, and site requirements.
Assist in monitoring project costs, material usage, manpower, and overall project budget.
Follow up on material orders, delivery schedules, subcontractor works, and site requirements.
Assist in preparing and submitting progress claims, variation orders, site reports, and project documentation.
Attend project and site meetings and assist in following up on action items, technical issues, and outstanding works.
Assist in coordinating testing, commissioning, defect rectification, and project handover.
Assist the Project Manager in identifying project risks, delays, and technical issues and coordinating appropriate solutions.
Support tender preparation by obtaining supplier/subcontractor quotations, reviewing quantities, comparing costs, and compiling tender documents.
Maintain proper records of drawings, approvals, site reports, correspondence, claims, and project documentation.
Ensure all works comply with relevant safety requirements, electrical standards, project specifications, and authority requirements.
Provide regular updates to the Project Manager on project progress, site issues, costs, and outstanding matters.
Perform other ad-hoc duties assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical/M&E construction or project coordination.
Good knowledge of electrical installation, drawings, specifications, BOQ, and site execution.
Experience coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, clients, and internal departments.
Exposure to project costing, progress claims, variation orders, and tender preparation is an advantage.
Good project coordination, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Able to monitor project progress, quality, cost, and timeline effectively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD knowledge is an advantage.
Willing to travel and work at project sites as required.
